Update continued. [Nov. 12th, 2006|02:30 am]
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich

George Harris as Kingsley Shacklebolt. Approved.

From L to R:
Alec Hopkins as Young Snape
Charles Hughes as Young Wormtail.
Robbie Jarvis as Young James
James Walters as Young Sirius
...and there's no picture of James Utechin who's playing Young Lupin.

My question is: who the hell had the job of casting these guys?

1. Snape doesn't look even remotely greasy. This guy looks so preppy that you could pour a can of bacon grease on his head and he still wouldn't be Snape-like in the least.
2. They can't cast anyone hot for Bella but young Peter Pettigrew is suddenly a dreamy blonde? WTF?
3. Okay, James looks fine. But he doesn't look like Harry. Kind of a main plot point.
4. Sirius was the heart-throb. Who the hell is this guy? He looks like Finch from American Pie. Go home.

Kathryn Hunter as Mrs. Figg. She definitely looks batty enough. Approved.

Richard Leaf as Auror Dawlish. I always pictured Dawlish as fat and stupid, this guy looks friggin creepy with his creepy eyes, and general creepiness. But Hagrid and Dumbledore beat the hell out of him on separate occasions so I don't really care.

Jim McManus as Aberforth Dumbledore/ the Hogs Head bartender. Looks like Michael Gambon, so it seems appropriate.

Susie Shinner as Young Lily. I included this one separately from the other young'ns because it actually works. ALTHOUGH...I can't see if she has green eyes in this pic. If she doesn't...FAILURE.

Sian Thomas as Amelia Bones...who, as far as I can remember, is a member of the Wizengamot and unlikely to have spent time in Azkaban...this woman kind of looks like she did.

Natalia Tena as Tonks. I know this is an annoyingly bad picture but it's the only one I could find. Hence, I still haven't made up my mind. For some reason I always pictured Tonks as black, but I know that was just me being an ass hat.

And the last two, Bane and Magorian the centaurs.

Yes yes, very sexy. But WHERE THE HELL IS FIRENZE?? It's useless having the centaurs at all if you don't cast the one that comes to teach at Hogwarts! Why change the names? WHAT is the point? Magorian and Bane were both jerks. What was the harm in including one more centaur...or just not including one of these guys?

So in conclusion, I will see the movie...on opening night, naturally. But I'll only end up getting pissed off. They screw it up every time, my only hope is that it can't possibly get any worse than it already has....right?

Stick to the books. I got nothin.

Harry Potter update [Nov. 12th, 2006|01:51 am]
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich
Okay, well, I know I'm a little late on this one, as the info has been public for quite a while. But I did one for Goblet of Fire so why the hell not.

New cast members for Order of the Phoenix.

Evanna Lynch, obviously as Luna "Loony" Lovegood. She's supposed to be pretty good, even JK gave her approval....especially as, completely coincidentally, she had been exchanging letters with Evanna for a while.

Apple Brook as Professor Grubbly Plank. Not that important of a character but I figured I'd include her anyway. She looks too happy in this picture to play the part but I'm sure she does a perfeclty adequate frown.

Imelda Staunton as Umbridge. We'll see how she does...but I will say this for her: she looks very much like a frog. Put her in a  pink bow and fluffy cardigan, and then all she has to do is hate everyone. Perfect.

Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange. I'm going to give this one a great big "eh". Bellatrix Lestrange was (before azkaban) H-O-T. HBC? Kind of looks like a man. I'm very sad about this. My vote would have been Liz Hurley.

For good measure: Come on. She's yummy, she can do the evil thing, she's already got sunken cheeks, and she'd probably go naked which would get the movie some rave reviews. From me, anyway.

Alright, I'm not even sure that this one will be okay with all the photos but I'm going to put the rest in another entry. Don't want to push my luck.

To be continued.

arrrgh..packing sucks [May. 5th, 2006|11:45 pm]

I HATE PACKING!

I have way too much crap. If I wasn't so excited about moving into our place (:-D) I'd be way more pissed about having to pack it all up. My car isn't even full, but I just got so tired of packing that I just gave up. On the other hand, I am getting up at 7 a.m. to finish. Blargh.

Okay, I was just watching Numb3rs? That incredibly dumb show on CBS? And..yeah, it's incredibly dumb. But I'm hooked. I watch it almost every week.

Today we got a mattress and a bed! The bed we will have when we move in...the matress, however, will not be here until next friday. So I guess we'll be sleeping on the futon for the first week. Whatev. It could be worse.

New place! and more [May. 1st, 2006|12:09 pm]

[Current Music |Erasure - Respect]

Saturday May 6th: the day Sean and I move into our new place! I am very excited, also a little nervous...but mostly excited.

Right now the only thing not falling into place is the furniture issue. My parents are very generously cleaning out their basement in search of items for us, and Cindy is donating a comfy chair. We also have a futon, but no bed, so we'll be sleeping on that. So basically, in the beginning if we don't find a couch and/or a bed, our living room will have one chair in it. Hence the furniture hunting trip Sean and I have planned today.

Also, some more fun information for those of you who have not gotten this shoved down your throats (sorry guys) I GOT AN INTERVIEW WITH TIERNEY COMMUNICATIONS IN PHILADELPHIA!! Honestly, I don't even care if I don't get the job...the fact that someone saw my resume and was interested in it fills me with new hope that I was very quickly running out of.

After graduation I will be working at Borders, yes. Borders the book shop. Full time. But it's cool, because I love that place. And its only temporary until I find something in my field...that is, Public Relations.

Right-o, that's all I've got today.

Yeah, I had to put that in word and make sure I'd spelled it right before I put it in the subject line.

Figured it was time for an update. Sean and I went to Harrisburg yesterday, he had an interview and I tagged along. We spent the afternoon in the city, touring the capitol and having lunch outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather. We had fish and chips at an Irish Pub, Molly Brannigans, which (according to Ang) is famous in the city for that particular meal. I'm not even kidding, it was better than some of the fish and chips I've had in England.

Hung out with Katrina last night, drank some wine, watched Monty Python, but mostly just talked through the whole thing. It's not like we haven't seen it a million times before.

I wanted to spend some time in the sun today but I woke up late, and whatever sun we had today wasn't much. It's 4:38 and Sean's still in bed, so I've missed the chance for today. But it's okay, it's only getting sunnier and warmer :) It looks like rain tonight, though. Boo hiss.

Wind symphony concert tomorrow. Not too excited about it, but not as worried as I was. Hopefully the brick wall that sits next to me will show up. Somehow I always feel less nervous when he's also playing, even though neither of us are very good at that one piece, Fete. Bah. Anyway, Moobers and I think Dooders are coming up to see it, so that'll be nice. Even though we'll probably end up talking about jobs the whole time.

Speaking of jobs, I'm pulling my hair out. I wasn't nervous for a long time, thinking it would work out, but now I keep thinking "what if I don't get a job at all?" and "what if I only get one, and it's not where Sean is?" It seems like it might be easier to just go home and get a job there, and not have to worry about working around someone else. But I really want to be with Sean. That outweighs any doubt I have, or temptation to take the easy road.

Cleaned the apartment with the roomies today. The place looks spiff-tacular. I also did some dishes, so I feel better. I always worry when they're just sitting in the sink.

I'm really bored. I know I should go to the gym. I haven't been feeling very well this week, and I've only been once. Not good. Maybe I'll get up the motivation later.

Alright, that's all I got.

Ben Folds and Mr. T [Mar. 21st, 2006|06:40 pm]

[Current Music |Law and Order: CI]

Damn you Angela for not letting me put Mr. T on my YCP PR brochure. And I'm very upset at the thought that prospective students might be put off or even offended by the phrase "I pity da foo!" What kind of weirdo doesn't appreciate Mr. T? I suppose (scary as this may be) some of the incoming students might be too young to remember him. Shudder.

Okay I feel better. Someone said I'd be better to use a picture of Jeff Gordon, and I'm inclined to agree.

Alright, I love these lyrics. Rockin the Suburbs - Ben Folds. I don't know, it makes me laugh.

let me tell ya'll what it's like
being male, middle class, and white:
it's a bitch — if you don't believe,
listen up to my new cd
sham on!

I got shit running through my brain
so intense that I can't explain
all alone in my white boy pain
shake your booty while the band complains

I'm rockin' the suburbs
just like Michael Jackson did
I'm rockin' the suburbs
except that he was talented
I'm rockin' the suburbs
I take the checks and face the facts
that some producer with computers
fixes all my shitty tracks

I'm pissed off, but I'm too polite
when people break in the McDonald's line
mom and dad you made me so uptight
I'm gonna cuss on the mic tonight
I don't know how much I can take
Girl, give me something I can break

I'm rockin' the suburbs
just like Quiet Riot did
I'm rockin' the suburbs
except that they were talented
I'm rockin' the suburbs
I take the checks and face the facts
that some producer with computers
fixes all my shitty tracks

in a haze these days
I pull up to the stoplight
I can feel that something's not right
I can feel that someone's blasting me
with hate and bass
sending dirty vibes my way
cause my great, great, great, great grandad
made someone's great, great, great, great grandaddy slaves

it wasn't my idea,
it wasn't my idea,
it never was my idea —
I just drove to the store
for some Preparation H

ya'll don't know what it's like
being male, middle class and white,
ya'll don't know what it's like
being male, middle class and white

ya'll don't know what it's like
being male, middle class and white,
ya'll don't know what it's like
being male, middle class and white

it gets me real pissed off
and it makes me wanna say,
it gets me real pissed off
and it makes me wanna say,
it gets me real pissed off
and it makes me wanna say,
"fuck"!

just like Jon Bon Jovi did
I'm rockin' the suburbs
except that he was talented
I'm rockin' the suburbs
I take the checks and face the facts
that some producer with computers
fixes all my shitty tracks these days

yeah, yeah
I'm rockin' the suburbs
yeah, yeah
I'm rockin' the suburbs
yeah, yeah

you'd better look out,
because I'm gonna say, "fuck"
you'd better look out,
because I'm gonna say, "fuck"

you'd better look out,
because I'm gonna say, "fuck"
you'd better look out,
because I'm gonna say, "fuck"

Weird night [Feb. 9th, 2006|11:05 pm]
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich
[Current Mood |tiredtired]
[Current Music |Ben Folds - Annie Waits]

I had a bit of an odd night last night. I burned a CD with three Ben Folds songs on it. Lizzie introduced me to two of them. I listened to one of them three seperate times over the night, and every time I started to cry. Then the third time I just didn't stop...I cried for like the whole night. Literally till like 6 a.m. So anyway I didn't sleep, obviously, until about 7. I called Tom and took the day off...which I HATE doing but didn't feel horrible about as I haven't called out since I was sick the beginning of last semester. Then slept till about 1, got up for class at 2, and I've been fine all day today. It was very strange. Both songs remind me of Lizzie, which reminds me strongly of home, which was the source of the crying. Feeling pretty homesick, I guess. But lots of things remind me of home...so why did this have such an effect on me? Sean said I wasn't the only one who got emotional over songs that reminded them of something, but last night I felt like I was pushing the limit a little.

Sooo...this has been slightly more sentimental than my usual LJ entry. So I'll pick it up a bit.

Today I developed my film in photo class, my first roll. I felt like an ass when I was trying to pry off the top of the film canister, because we have to do it in complete darkness, but there were three other people in the tiny room, including the professor, and I was using the wrong part of the bottle opener. Didn't feel so bad, though, as one of the other girls (also Rebecca...must be the name :) did the exact same thing right after me. Then we developed the film and mine all came out either under or over exposed. Not unprintable, but not great either. On the bright side, I have 4 more rolls to succeed at. And I know what I did wrong.

Okay, watching Mission Impossible right now. I saw this movie in theaters, and I remember having no idea what the hell was going on. I was maybe 13 then, and watching it now? I still have no idea what the hell is going on.

Anyway, it's time for an early night. I'm beat. Sorry for the drab entry.

The Things They Carried [Feb. 4th, 2006|03:16 am]
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich
[Current Mood |smelly]

I was trying to remember this quote a while ago when Katelyn was talking about the book...the greatest book ever written, in my opinion.

Anyway, since Katelyn's not online (and who in their right mind can blame her as its 3:17 a.m?), I figured before I forget I'll record it in the holiest of places, LIVEJOURNAL. Hell yeah.

"To generalize about war is like generalizing about peace. Almost everything is true. Almost nothing is true. Though it’s odd, you’re never more alive than when you’re almost dead."

The weird thing is I remember the quote differently, but I'm not really sure how it's different in my mind. I thought it was longer. But the part after that doesn't ring any bells. Aaah, whatev.

It's such a good book. Seriously, read it. It's the only book I read in HS for a class that I finished...twice. Brilliant.

uuuuuh....too much dinner [Jan. 25th, 2006|09:53 pm]

[Current Music |watching Bones]

I made two beef sandwiches tonight for dinner...soooo good but too much tonight. Blech.

BAR TOMORROW!!! Finally get to be a member of the big kid's club! I'm a bit bored tonight so I thought I'd try and arrange a last minute midnight bar hopping trip, but I think most people had a busy day and I do have to get up at 7 a.m. tomorrow. It's going to be a rough day. Now that I'm not going anywhere I think I might just collapse early. No Sean to distract me tonight.

I like how I wrote for two days after I said I would update every day this semester aaaand...that's it. I spose I'm not very good at following through. Bookstore at 8 a.m. tomorrow. God that sucks so much. No one's there until like 11 a.m., and I leave at noon. Then I guess I'll go to the gym. That's no fun. But it has to be done.

Okay so I made this because Angela and Brad came up with it a while ago and I think its hilarious.

hahaha. Hopefully that shows up.

Righto. That's it. Don't forget to wish me a happy birthday tomorrow! ;)
